15 fellows are appointed annually to advanced training positions in reconstructive & aesthetic surgery. There are currently 10 centres approved for training and trainees have the opportunity to preference which of the centres they would consider training within as part of the application process.

 

Recruitment

Recruitment to these four-month fellowships is held biannually with interviews usually taking place in the Autumn for February and June posts; followed by interviews in the Spring for October posts. There are 15 funded fellowships available and recruitment to this will be split to 10 placements to start in February and/or June, and 5 placements to start in October.

Applying:

The window for application is usually 4 weeks in length. It is important to check the closing date as late applications are not accepted. All applications are completed online through the national system, Oriel.

References:

As part of the recruitment process candidates will be required to bring two references with them to the interviews; one of these must be from the Training Programme Director.

Additional Fellowships

We also offer advance training fellowships in: Therapeutic Use of Lasers and Management of Skin Cancer. The recruitment to these fellowships takes place at the same time as the Reconstructive Cosmetic Surgery recruitment. Trainees apply for the fellowships they would like to undertake and the structure of the interview on the day will vary depending on the number of specialties applied for.
