How Do I check if I’m eligible to apply for the fellowship posts?
There is a person specification for the fellowship that states the eligibility criteria required.
It is important that you include all relevant information to ensure your application is not filtered from the process during the longlisting checks.
When will the fellowship start?
The intended start date of the fellowships will be up to four months after the date of offer. The exact start dates will be agreed each year with the successful candidates and the training centres.
What happens if my CCT date is before the start date of the fellowship?
The fellowships are pre-cct. To be eligible to undertake a Training Interface Fellowship an applicant's CCT date must be later than the start date of the fellowship.
Who do I need to notify of my intention to apply for sub-specialty training?
You are required to contact your current Training Programme Director and regional Health Education office* with which you hold a National Training Number. The English Deans agreed that when a trainee secures a sub-specialty training post in another *training location, this will be managed using the out of programme experience (OOPT) process rather than an inter-deanery transfer.
*previously known as Deanery
How do I apply for Out of programme experience (OOPT)?
You will need to contact your current *Local Education and Training Board (LETB) to seek approval. This is carried out by the completion of an OOPT Form, which is usually available on your region's* Health Education website.
*previously known as Deanery
When Should I start my application for Out of program?
To avoid delay the Royal College recommend that you contact your current Health Education office as soon as you have been offered a post. We are unable to give specific details as processes may be different depending on your location. Please visit your region's website for specific information regarding the process.
