Mentoring Training

Programme.

A suite of 3 x full-day workshops will be delivered by NHS England SW for those interested in developing skills of mentoring to support colleagues in the South West.   

Suite 1 -aimed at doctors in training

Suite 2 – aimed at Consultants, SAS doctors and senior clinical leaders

Attendance at all 3 days in the appropriate suite is necessary in order to build a suite of skills which will support you as a mentor.

 A further networking day will be offered to consolidate your learning through a day of supervision and action-learning. 

 

The  3-day workshop package will cover:

 Day 1 – Mentoring framework, processes and skills; your role in mentoring , contracting, signposting and logistics. Creative ways of supporting your mentee; methods for engaging mentees, new ways of breaking old thought-patterns and developing plans for personal development with your mentees

 Day 2 - Holding good conversations; getting beyond the surface, holding difficult conversions. Motivational interviewing

 Day 3 - An introduction to compassion and its application in mentoring. Understanding self and the importance of using values and strengths in mentoring

 

Workshops will be offered on-line, using Zoom with supporting platforms for resources.
