Overview:
Our learning environment, relationships with our peers and teachers and the feelings of inclusion and belonging are key for achieving one’s full potential. These are some of the key principles found to influence and address the differential attainment gap that exists. Facilitating challenging conversations with trainees about their progress is frequently cited as a key issue of difficulty, but feedback is the most powerful single modification that enhances achievement. This workshop aims explore these challenges and offer some solutions.
Content:
- To provide resources and support for holding challenging conversations that arise because of issues related to differential attainment or working with colleagues or trainees who may be underperforming or struggling with work-based difficulties
- To provide an inclusive and constructive forum to promote learning and develop skills in managing challenging conversations with individuals and with groups
- To develop skills in group facilitation
- Effective feedback
Audience:
Associate Dean Secondary Care, Associate DME, College/Specialty Tutor, Deputy Dean, DME, Educational/Clinical Supervisor Secondary Care, Dental Educational/Clinical Supervisor, HoS, SAS Doctor (Associate Specialist, Specialist, Speciality Doctor, Staff Grade, Tutor), TPD Secondary Care or Public Health Supervisor

This is a half day course, starting at 09:30 and finishing at 12:00.
