This workshop is to advise educational and clinical supervisors on how they can best support their neurodivergent doctors in training and colleagues to reach their potential.

 

Content

This one day workshop will provide delegates with the tools to support their neurodivergent colleagues.

Topics covered:

• What is meant by neurodiversity

• The common strengths and challenges of those with attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), autism spectrum disorder (ASD) and dyslexia

• Tools available to help doctors in training

• What ‘reasonable adjustments’ are, the Equality Act 2010 and what yours and the Trust or practice’s obligations are

• Understand what it is like to be a neurodivergent doctor

• Which organisations can support neurodiversity

• What support is available at NHSE SW Workforce, Training and Education

 

Who should attend

This course has been designed for supervisors looking to support their Postgraduate doctors in training and colleagues who are neurodivergent.
